i)                The young man was a hunter. He had come to Artyom’s hut to take shelter for the night as the weather outside was stormy.
ii)             The weather outside was bad. It was dark and noisy with all signs of the outbreak of a thunderstorm.
iii)           Artyom was scared of wicked men more than any wolf, bear or wild beast of any sort. He was of the belief that one could save oneself from wild beasts using a weapon but there was no safety against the wickedness of a man.
iv)            Artyom and the young man heard the repeated sounds of someone asking for help. Artyom decided not to go out because he was scared of wicked men.
v)              The young man saved a peasant woman driving in a cart, who was struck in thicket and was injured. When the young man returned to Artyom’s hut, he was drenched to the skin because of heavy downpour.
vi)            The young man believed Artyom to be a selfish man, who was scared of people because he had money and feared of being robbed of his money. He said that he would rob Artyom out of spite and teach him a lesson.
c)          Artyom was  a forester, who lived in a hut, situated on a track, in the forest. He was scared of men more than wild beasts. He believed that one could save oneself from the wild animals with a weapon but there was no weapon against the wickedness of men. He would never to our to help anybody at night.
d)    Artyom, the forester would be an apt title for  the summary as it describes the characteristics of Artyom.
